Students Needing Additional Support

In every class, some students may require additional support to reach their learning goals. These students have individual learning objectives and Individual Education Plans (IEPs), which are developed in consultation with parents to ensure a consistent approach both at home and at school. Our early years intervention programs are designed to support students who have not yet met achievement benchmarks, offering one-on-one or small group instruction with specialised teachers trained to help them progress. 

At Bimbadeen Heights Primary School, we are dedicated to supporting every child’s learning journey through targeted, evidence-based interventions. Our Learning Support Programs include the highly regarded MultiLit suite of interventions, which are tailored to assist students who need extra help. This includes InitaLit, a phonics program for students in Foundation to Year 2, as well as Mini-Lit, MacqLit, and other MultiLit intervention programs for older students.

These programs are grounded in Australian, evidence-based resources, ensuring that our approach is both effective and research-driven. In addition to these specialised interventions, we offer differentiated learning experiences within the classroom, providing one-on-one and small group instruction to meet the individual needs of each student. Our goal is to ensure that all students have the support they need to build strong literacy foundations and achieve success.
