How to Enrol

Choosing a school for your child is a very important decision.

Below is an outline of the steps you can take to request enrolment in our school.

Restricted Enrolments

Our school has an enrolment restriction under section 2.2.16 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic). The restriction limits enrolments for the 2027 school year.

Our school will accept enrolments from:

  • students who live within the school zone
  • students with a sibling attending the school at the same time
  • students enrolling on compassionate grounds, in exceptional circumstances.

Depending on available places, our school may be able to accept a limited number of out-of-zone enrolments according to next closest to the school for the 2027 Foundation intake. Please refer to the Department of Education placement policy for further information.

The department will review this enrolment restriction yearly and provide updated advice as necessary for the subsequent school year.

Step 1: Find My School

Bimbadeen Heights Primary School zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones.

Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address. Your zoned school is the first school at the top of a list of 5 nearby schools to your residential address, the other 4 are listed for distance reasons only.

The Department provides guidance through the School Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.

You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under School zones.

Step 2: Enrolment Information

2027 Foundation (Prep) enrolment

Our school zone

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school. Your school zone is determined based on your permanent residential address.

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their local school. Students may enrol at another school if there are available places.

For more information about our school zone, please contact our school. For answers to frequently asked questions about school zones, visit School zones.

2027 Foundation (Prep) enrolments

All Victorian government primary schools follow the statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline. The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child at a Victorian government primary school.

You can apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) in 2027 from Monday 20 April 2026.

What you need to do:

  1. Contact our school to book an optional school tour.
  2. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available by Monday 20 April 2026). This pack includes guidance on the application process.
  3. Submit an enrolment application by Friday 31 July 2026.

Our school uses the Department of Education’s secure digital enrolment system called VicStudents. This means you can submit your Foundation (Prep) application online and receive updates through the system. If you have any questions about the online enrolment process, please contact our school. Paper enrolment application forms are also available on request.

  1. You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 3 August and Friday 14 August 2026.
  2. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should accept the offer by Friday 28 August 2026.
  3. Take part in school transition sessions during Term 4, 2026.
  4. Prepare your child to start Foundation (Prep) from Thursday 28 January 2027.

Enrolment applications submitted after 31 July 2026 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Enrolment Policy.

For more information about the Foundation enrolment timeline, visit: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep).

Other year level enrolments

We also accept enrolment applications for eligible students in other year levels who live within our school zone. You can submit a request at any time in the school year.

If you are seeking enrolment at any other year levels, please contact our school for more information.

Step 3: Explore our website

The ideal starting place to learn more about us. We have a library of videos where you can:

Meet our principal
Hear from our dedicated & talented teachers
Get to know some of our students
Learn about our curriculum opportunities

… and so much more!

Step 4: Book a School Tour

A school tour with a member of our school’s leadership team is a great opportunity to see our school in action and to get a ‘feel’ for the school and assess if it will meet the learning needs for your child.

Interested parents and carers are encouraged to book a school tour. We conduct personal tours specifically for Foundation families from Term 1 through to the end of Term 2 by appointment only. Tours for placements at all other levels are conducted throughout the year, on a needs basis and by appointment only.

Step 5: Complete an Online Enrolment Application

Our school uses an online process for enrolment applications.

To begin the process, please visit https://students.educationapps.vic.gov.au/s/ to create an account and complete the online enrolment application form. If you are applying for enrolment into Foundation in 2027, you must submit an online enrolment application by Friday 31 July 2026. All other enrolment applications may be submitted at any time.

Our school will review your application and be in contact with you at our earliest opportunity. For 2027 Foundation enrolments, the outcome of your application will be confirmed from Monday 3rd August 2026.

You will be required to accept an offer for enrolment in order for your application to proceed. For 2027 Foundation applications, only one enrolment offer must be accepted by Friday 28 August 2026.

When accepting an enrolment offer, you will be required to provide additional personal and health information that will be shared with the school.

You will also be required to provide documents to verify your child’s permanent residence. Any combination of the documents listed on the Residential Address Check is acceptable, as long as they add up to at least 100 points. Please see the link below for a complete list of supporting documentation that can be used to varify your permanent residence.

Step 6: Foundation (Prep) Transition Program

An important feature of our school is the well established and successful Foundation Transition Program that we run. One of our priorities is that all children new to the school feel happy and secure as quickly as possible. Having your child attend our Foundation Transition program is a great way to ensure they get off on the right foot.
