Digital Technologies
Building digital literacy
The Digital Technologies curriculum enables students to become confident and creative developers of digital solutions through the application of information systems and specific ways of thinking about problem solving.
Digital Technologies
At Bimbadeen Heights Primary School, we teach Science and Digital Technologies through an integrated approach that aligns with the Victorian Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6. In Science, students explore the key areas of Biological, Chemical, Earth and Space, and Physical Sciences, with a focus on inquiry-based learning. Through hands-on investigations and practical experiments, students develop skills in questioning, predicting, observing, and analysing data. This approach encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and a deeper understanding of the natural and physical world.
In Digital Technologies, the curriculum emphasises developing students’ skills in computational thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy. Students learn to design, create, and evaluate digital solutions, including how to use digital systems to collect, store, and share information. The curriculum also includes understanding the role of digital technologies in society and how they can be applied to address real-world challenges.
By integrating Science and Digital Technologies, we provide a cohesive and engaging learning experience for students. This approach not only deepens their understanding of both fields but also prepares them for a technology-driven future, fostering skills that are essential for success in the 21st century.
